A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Series of 57 fire tests was conducted to evaluate combustibility of duct materials and to develop data for predicting performance under actual fire conditions of glass fiber duct as used in heating and air conditioning systems; calorimeter test was designed to determine rate of heat release by burning material and its duration of burning; section test was conducted under conditions simulating fire occurring at inlet of duct run penetrating fire rated wall; test sections were 24 ft long, assembled from standard lengths of round and rectangular duct with no side openings.
