Precast concrete parts approved in bridge building
Reconstruction of bridge on Rhine at Krefeld-Uerdingen is described; because of heavy traffic load on structure of about 17,000 vehicles/day, reinforcement of roadway was necessary; to meet requirements of short construction time, method was proposed in special project in which precast concrete parts span over 6.25 m from one steel transverse girder to another in width of 2.30 and 1.90 m.
