Tasman Bridge on Derwent River near Hobart (Tasmania)
1430 m long reinforced concrete bridge carries four 3.35 m wide traffic lanes; it is supported by piers founded on cast-in-place concrete piles, one of which, due to deep dolerite layer, has been driven to record depth of 81.6 m; deck is formed by 42.7 longitudinal beams weighing 88 tons each, which were placed with help of floating crane.
