Tasman bridge, Hobart, nears completion
Design and construction features of road bridge of flexible prestressed column design used for 3364 ft River Derwent crossing are outlined; method of pile sinking utilizing template pontoon, and column design employing slender flexible prestressed concrete units are described; throughout construction of superstructure erection method adopted utilized only three staging frames which were adapted to meet variations in span and height.
