Structural model testing -- Load distribution in concrete I-beam bridges
Tests are reported of four small-scale Plexiglas models of prestressed concrete highway bridges continuous over two spans; distribution of concentrated load to various members was measured for different width-to-span ratios and several arrangements of interior diaphragms; results were found to conform closely to those predicted by elastic theory; excellent agreement was found between behavior of one of small-scale models and that of geometrically similar half-scale prestressed concrete bridge previously tested in laboratory.
