Structural model study of load distribution in box-beam bridges
Major objective was design of efficient structural model system to study static live load distribution in particular type of highway bridge; design conditions are discussed; length scale of 16 was adopted; Plexiglas was selected as most appropriate material; pilot tests demonstrated feasibility of Plexiglas models, and suggested possible improvements in future tests; design of model system is presented.
