Behaviour of laminated timber beams under torsion
Review of tests carried out to investigate effect of torsion upon laminated timber beams in which adhesive was both unfilled and heavily filled with pulverized fuel ash; end joints, stacked at one section, were introduced in many cases; observations of modulus of rigidity and distribution of strain on two faces were made and value suggested for former; scarf joints of slope 1 in 12 were found to give satisfactory response with either filled or unfilled adhesives when stacked at section. (n 708 July 1965 p 1051, 1053-5, n 709 Aug p 1195-7)
