Stress analysis of wire strand-reinforced prestressed beams
Results of tests on experimental beam (24 m long span, 12 m column spacing) confirm feasibility of use of seven-wire strand reinforcement (15 mm diam) in large concrete constructions; flexure test and shearing test of beam ends show that collaboration of reinforcement with concrete is ensured by self anchorage of wire strands; experimental and theoretical data concerning critical moments were in good agreement.
