Novel way to strip 230,000 cu yd of unstable highway material by digging pond with dragline and then floating portable 80-ton dredge on 4 steel pontoons connected to each other by 2-in. diam steel pins; inside pontoons have built-in well which holds Thomas full-lined Ni-Hard 12-in. centrifugal pump, powered by twin General Motors diesel engines with combined 350-hp output.
