Cold Springs Canyon Bridge, 13 mi north of Santa Barbara, Calif, is 1217 ft long arch span over 485 ft deep chasm; modified version of traveling falsework which had features specifically designed for bridge was used in its construction; primary modification was relocating pivot points of swinging arms so that bottom platform would clear arch structural steel at mid span.
