Rubble concrete -- As used for Koyna dam
Impermeability, homogeneity, strength and relatively higher density all show that rubble concrete is acceptable and reliable construction material for interior of gravity dams; with execution of Koyna Dam, it was possible to work with comparatively low cement content, place rubble concrete at required controlled temperatures by adopting precooling procedures and also maintain speed of placement.
