A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Multipurpose project in India features main dam of gravity type with rubble stone in surki mortar, except in center, where masonry spillway is provided for passing floods; dam is 1445 ft long and 194 ft high above average river bed; saddles, earth dam, irrigation sluices and reservoir are described; power generation is in both flanks of dam where 2 power stations will have total proposed capacity of 25,000 kw; irrigation project and work progress are considered; salient features of scheme are given.
