Novillo Dam, Mexico's first double curvature concrete arch dam in northwestern state of Sonora will impound 2.5 million acre-ft of water on Yaqui River; dam will be thin arch, 115 ft thick and 250 ft long at canyon floor and 26 ft thick and 585 ft long at crest, and will have underground power station equipped with 2 45,000-kw turbine generators.
