Channel-slope factor in flood-frequency analysis
Annual flood peaks in New England have been related to many hydrologic factors; main channel slope has been found next in importance to drainage area size; slope for that part of main channel between 85 and 10% of total distance above gaging point provides best correlation with flood magnitudes.
