Glass-fiber plastics in farm building construction
Investigation of advantages of fibrous glass reinforced plastics for developing construction methods to reduce on site labor requirements; rigid frame of 40 ft span was designed which would provide clear span, permit prefabrication, provide skin and frame as integral unit, and allow convenient building expansion; information on prototype, model analysis and special test floor; it was concluded epoxy and polyester resins reinforced with glass fibers produce laminate uniform in mechanical properties suitable for use as structural material.
