A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
New grouting technique is used in construction of Rocky Reach Dam; special grout containing usual grouting mixture, plus clay, bentonite and gelatinous chemical known as AM-9 pumped into earth at bottom of cut-off trench; trench is 220 ft long and 90 ft deep; mixture was found to make creamy material that flowed more easily through grout pipes and helped to keep cement in suspension.
