Oahe power tunnels to be inverted siphons
Design features of power tunnels at Oahe Dam, on Missouri River; access to tunnels will be through drop inlets at upstream toe of dam; each inlet will be 134 ft deep and lined to 30 ft diam; bottom of inlet shafts will turn 90° through reducing elbows into 24 ft diam tunnels; tunnels, mined to 29 ft diam will vary in length from 3100 to 3800 ft.
