Analysis of frames loaded into plastic range
Presented precise method of analysis involves determination of "compatible" moment of rotation of joint by intersection of 2 moment vs end rotation curves of adjoining members; effects of initial residual stresses and instability of beam columns are considered; it is shown by example how behavior of frames may be predicted after attainment of ultimate loads; frames are assumed to fail by excessive bending in plane of loading.
