Expressway construction through heart of Toronto goes on almost unnoticed
To alleviate traffic congestion in downtown Toronto, Ont, Don Valley Parkway limited access 6 lane divided highway was constructed; construction work and problems encountered; project which cost aproximately $2,000,000/mi featured removal of Sugar Loaf Hill rising 100 ft above surrounding area; excavated material was used to raise grade on Parkway right of way between Don Mills Road and Leaside Viaduct.
