Electrical conductivity of strained rocks -- 2
Changes in resistivity of three kinds of sedimentary rocks, lapilli tuff, tuffaceous sandstone and pumice tuff, are studied by making use of oil pressure testing machine; rate of change in resistivity for lapilli tuff sample was extremely large amounting to value few hundred times as large as change in mechanical strain; although simple theory of electric conduction in strained rock containing water is advanced no good agreement between theory and actual experiments was obtained.
