Flood proofing in flood plain -- Stochastic model
Mathematical model of urban flood plain incorporates statistical description of flood proofing measures; permanent and dynamic measures, contingent and dependent on flood warning time, are considered; dynamic flood proofing is treated by probabilistic approach which accounts for various uncertainties associated with diffusion and implementation of flood warnings; expected value and standard deviation of damage to entire flood plain reach are expressed in terms of "flood proofing index", which indicates extent of dynamic flood proofing in flood plain; hypothetical numerical example is included.
