Description of new 1725 million gal reservoir which completes water storage facilities of Washburn Valley, planned and developed in first stages nearly 100 yr ago; it is formed by mass concrete gravity dam, 600 ft long at top water level and 131 ft high, constructed between Apr 1961 and Aug 1966 by Holland and Hannen and Cubitts (Civil Engineering) Ltd, on moorland site 12 mi west of Harrogate and 20 mi north-west of Leeds.
