Venemo asphalt-faced rock-fill dam
Paper describes design and construction of Venemo Dam, dam with impervious frontal facing of asphaltic concrete and fill consisting of tunnel spoil; compaction field tests on tunnel spoil were carried out and compression of rock fill was measured by means of cross arms installed in fill; description of construction of dam and of asphalting is given together with results of quality control; performance of dam after one year in service is checked by measurements of seepage through dam as well as of compression of fill.
