Fifth progress report on hydraulics of culverts -- Nonenlarged box culvert inlets
Experimental data presented for number of nonenlarged box culvert inlets operating in inlet control with steep barrel slopes; performance of skewed inlets with headwalls and of given top edge geometry is controlled in significant measure by geometry of less favorable side edge resulting from skewed headwall; experimental results indicated that substantial improvement in performance of box culvert may be secured by simple expedient of installing beveled edges of relatively small dimensions on leading edges of inlets.
