Seventh progress report on hydraulics of culverts -- Tapered box culvert inlets with fall concentration in inlet structure
Performance of tapered box culvert inlets in which part of barrel fall is concentrated in inlet structure between face and throat sections; experimental data are presented only for entrance control operation; face sections of progressively increased area and improved design are required to ensure throat section control, as amount of fall concentration in inlet structure is increased; relatively efficient performance is obtained with sloped and tapered inlets operating with free surface flow.
