Highly resistant copper deteriorates in severely corrosive soils
Tests were conducted by U S Bureau of Standards to establish amount of cathodic protection necessary for copper in severely corrosive soil; it is generally assumed that copper has higher resistance to corrosion in soils than do other commonly used metals; experimental methods plus results of those tests which concern copper corrosion are discussed.
