Recent developments in prestressing tendons
Development of special compacted strands, to enable greater prestressing force to be obtained in smaller overall cross-sectional area, is described; attention is given to covering of prestressing tendons with plastics; to minimize effect of ultraviolet light, pigmentation is used in compound and, where plastics-covered tendon is shielded, deleterious effect of such radiation can be discounted.
