Chemically prestressed concrete is used to cast 11×36 ft thin-wall units; two units are tied together to form apartment; units are made monolithic by cast, reinforced concrete; 40-ton crane handles stacking job; vertical post-tensioning and rebar steel up side of building help tie modules together; building made of mass-produced modules has 2 in. thick walls, 4 1/2 in. thick ceilings.
