Analysis of skewed composite girder bridges
Finite-element method of analysis is presented for skewed composite beam bridges with diaphragms; structure is divided into plate and eccentric stiffener elements for which stiffness matrices are derived; these stiffness matrices for component elements are assembled into total stiffness matrix for structure; solution of resulting equilibrium equations gives nodal deformations of structure which can be used to obtain internal forces; method is compared with several existing methods of analysis for this type of structure.
