Behavior under load of composite box-girder bridges
Quarter and fifth scale models were tested of 80- and 100-ft span composite box-girder bridges made of trapezoidal shape steel girders joined by stud shear connectors to reinforced concrete deck slab; observed behavior of model bridges was in close agreement with behavior predicted by folded plate theory.
