Corrosion prevention for structural fasteners in construction industry
Review of available fastener types is presented which includes rivets, unfinished bolts, high strength bolts, and rib and bearing bolts; types of corrosion discussed are uniform, galvanic concentration cell, pitting, stress corrosion, fatigue, fretting, stray current, and hydrogen embrittlement; coatings included are metallic zinc, cadmium, and aluminum.
