Long-term deflection of prestressed composite beams with cast-in-situ lightweight concrete
Approximate method of estimating long-term deflection is presented for compressive reinforcement; experimental work in which prestressed composite beams with varying amounts of compressive reinforcement were subjected to sustained loading for about 150 days is described; compressive reinforcement reduced long-term deflection of beams and stabilized it within short period; it reduced residual deflection after removal of sustained load; comparison of measured and calculated deflections indicated that approximate method gives satisfactory estimate of long-term deflection.
