Experimental use of self-unloading hopper dredge for rehabilitation of Ocean Beach
In connection with efforts to develop methods of rehabilitating ocean beaches, experiment was conducted to determine feasibility of employing hopper dredges owned by U S Army Corps of Engineers and equipped to unload and pump sand ashore directly from its hoppers while moored offshore in ocean environment; plant and equipment used and operational experience and results obtained are described and discussed; photographs are included.
