Unsymmetrically loaded hyperboloids of revolution
Relation of membrane theory solution to solution of bending theory equations of hyperboloids of revolution is examined; equilibrium equations of membrane theory are transformed into form of Hill's equation which is then solved using concept of infinite determinant; solutions for stress resultants are presented in form suitable for application in membrane and bending theories; number of terms required to obtain sufficiently accurate results using infinite determinant representation is examined.
