Decarburization and oxidation of steel ShKh15 during heating
Investigations conducted for purpose of reducing or eliminating surface decarburization and deoxidation of this steel are described; as pickling was not completely satisfactory, experiments were carried out to shorten heating period in reheating furnaces by increasing heated surface, by using spacers between billets; heating cycle variants, with some modifications in furnace design, enabled decarburization to be reduced to standard tolerances.
