Deep reaching layers of silt which had to be held at 1 on 1 slope to avoid loss of great elms near building line, necessitated construction of wellpoints at two levels in building foundation for 4-story office building of Phoenix Fire Insurance Co, Hartford, Conn; 2 in. centrifugal pump, with four 65 cfm capacity vacuum pumps attached, provided suction for system.
