Concrete gravity dam, 300 ft high, is part of Roanoke River flood control system in southwestern Virginia; aggregates, processed at quarry, are trucked to reserve storage at job where they are stocked by sizes; refrigeration plant, designed to put 50 F concrete into forms, is rated at 500 tons per day; ice, cold water and air are used for cooling; cableway places concrete and raises steel form panels.
