Crossing of railway lines and installations by Paris Belt Boulevard
Boulevard crosses surface tracks at nine points, notably at big marshalling yards located at five main Paris railway stations; most interesting of these structures are Bercy and Massena viaducts, with respective effective areas of 20,000 and 17,000 sq m, constructed of steel box girders linked by cross bracing carrying reinforced concrete slab; 100-m span Bercy viaduct carries two side-by-side aprons each consisting of two troughs following, in plan, complex alignment of roadways, notably in zones of Bercy interchange. (v 22 n 6, 12 June 1967 p 256-64, Dec p 483-7)
