Proposed design for experimental prestressed pavement slab
American Concrete Institute Committee report 325 considers factors pertinent to prestressing concept, reviews results of number of experimental projects, and presents design details for experimental sections of prestressed pavement; data are presented for slabs from 400 to 900 ft long, 24 ft wide, and 5 in. thick, with post-tensioned tendons spaced 24 in. on centers to provide 100 psi effective prestress at midlength of slab; details are suggested for 600-ft slabs.
