Experiment comparing performance of roadstones in different bituminous surfacings -- A.30 Blackbushe, Hampshire (Interim Report)
Results of inspections and measurements made over first 4 yr of experimental surfacings laid on road A.30 in Hampshire, Great Britain; experiments were carried out to determine relation between polished-stone value of number of roadstones and resistance to skidding of different surfacings in which they constitute major part of exposed surface; experimental surfacings included surface dressings, rolled asphalts, bitumen macadam and dense tar surfacings; eight roadstones were used with polished-stone values that ranged from 49 to 75.
