Arkansas river navigation entrance
Study was concerned with lower portion of Arkansas Post Canal and White River; tests were conducted on fixed-bed model with horizontal scale of 1:600 and vertical scale of 1;100; investigation was conducted to determine effects of various cutoffs on navigation, determine most favorable location for entrance into navigation canal from Arkansas River, to study flow pattern and velocities in entrance to canal, and to determine adequacy of proposed flood-control plan.
