400,000 gallon concrete water tower at Ford factory, Halewood
Particular feature of water tower was construction of conical tank at ground level and subsequent jacking, through nearly 100 ft, to final position; lifting entailed positioning of hydraulic jacks on top corbel, together with 1 3/4 in. diam steel rods approximately 100 ft long connected to cone; total load hoisted was about 770 tons.
