By using specially designed cutting torch and feeding mixture of Ca-Si and Al-Mg powders into torch head, high surface quality was obtained on sheet whether slabs rolled from ingots were continuously dressed by abrasives or planed. (See also Stal n 1 Jan 1963 p 73-5)
