Field compaction studies on asphaltic concrete
Tests to evaluate effect of varying compactive effort of intermediate rolling on asphaltic concrete; pneumatic tired and steel wheel vibratory rollers were used on total of 26 test section; results of tests made with pneumatic tired intermediate roller indicated that maximum compaction is attained with 6 coverages; results obtained with vibratory compactor were inconsistent.
