Structural analysis of guyed masts
Description of iteration procedure for analyzing guyed masts under loading conditions which consist of wind pressure on mast and guys and concentrated loads acting on mast; guy wire analysis is based on parabolic approximation to catenary, and effect of wind pressure on guys is taken account of using normal procedure consistent with this theory; bending is considered in 2 principal planes of mast; and account is taken of effects of guy eccentricity at point of attachment to mast; within these premises iteration process generates answers of any degree of accuracy required; in practice it has been found that 2 or 3 iterations will usually give answers to within 1% of their final values.
