House foundations: short-bored pile
Method of foundation construction suitable for two-story houses and other light buildings, such as one and two-story schools, which consists of number of concrete piles cast in holes bored by mechanical or hand augers to depth of 10 ft and more and distributed under walls; piles support reinforced concrete beam which may form part of ground floor slab; it serves to tie tops of piles together and to distribute building loads to piles.
