Bored pile foundations
Piling system employs crawler mounted excavator adapted to drive heavy duty auger suspended from boom; auger digs into ground and is then withdrawn carrying excavated material with it; auger shaft is square hollow box cross section with inner section sliding between outer one so that 80 ft drilling depths can be obtained using 60 ft boom; system avoids constructing pile caps thereby reducing labor costs, and provides knowledge of soil at excavation base; speeds of 20 ft/hr can be achieved.
