Flood protection works at Gainsborough
In order to prevent town of Gainsborough from being inundated when river Trent is in flood, various improvements were performed within 1 1/2 mi of front of river; some of most important constructions are: 5-ft high reinforced concrete wall, 6-ft high concrete cantilever wall, parapet built on top of existing brick wall, parapet on top of existing steel sheet piling and strengthening of old brick wall.
