Soil stabilisation in Germany
Information, obtained during authors' visit to Germany in 1953, substantiated claim made in German technical press that at least 100 million sq m of soil cement construction had been laid by Germans on airfields during period 1938 to 1945; prewar airfield construction; machines used included Strabag, Voegele, and Sonthofen mix-in-place machines, Reiser "travel mix" type, Bungartz rotary tillers, Stabilo-Bau hood and rotor attachment; road materials employed.
