South-European pipe line
General conception and construction problems; 782 km long, 86 cm in diam pipe line connecting Mediterranean port of Lavera (France) with Strassbourg (France) and Karlsruhe (West Germany) oil refineries, was completed in 20 mo; selection of proper pipe material and of other equipment as well as various construction phases of system are summarized; construction costs are indicated; construction method resulted in completion of system on time and within limits of estimated costs.
